In this article, I am going to share some very interesting Facts about Yorkies.
1. This breed was originally bred from a collection of terriers like English Terrier to hunt rats. This breed first came into existence in Scotland and was used by weavers and small business owners to hunt small rats and get prey out of their hiding place.
2. Weavers brought this breed to England after they were really happy with the utility of this dog breed.
3. Do you know that Yorkshire is a place in England. So how did this breed came to know after that place? An English Reporter named it after Yorkshire because they were first properly trained and groomed in Yorkshire in england.
4. A Yorkshire Terrier named Huddersfield Ben is considered to be the father of this breed. It won around 70 Ratting Competitions and was a Champion in catching and hunting rats. He just lived 6 years old but he left an ever lasting legacy.
5. American Soldier Bill Wynne found a Yorkshire Terrier during WWII and he worked on her Crate and Obedience Training. Then she was able to run through communication pipes and string communication wires.She really proved to be an asset for Americans. Here's the full story
